Outstanding Success for Saint Clair Family Estate

The Royal Easter Show Wine Awards announced the trophy winners at a presentation dinner on Saturday night. Saint Clair Pioneer Block 9 Big John Riesling 2013 was awarded the esteemed Red Badge Security Trophy for the Champion Riesling of the show.

Saint Clair Family Estate pride itself in excellence. Being awarded this trophy for Riesling further emphasises the strong focus on quality for the family owned New Zealand wine producer.
 
Winemaker Hamish Clark comments; “I am proud to be part of such an amazing award winning wine company. This trophy is only made possible through a large team effort which commences with exceptional fruit.  John Walsh (Big John) and his wife Lynne are the growers of this elegant Riesling and their hard work and dedication in the vineyard has enabled us to create this wine of excellence.”

This comes at the same time as the announcement of the great international wine awards Mundus Vini 2015 Spring Tasting (Germany). International judges tasted wines from nearly 40 wine producing countries over a period of three days.  Saint Clair is thrilled to declare Best of Show New Zealand White 2015 was awarded to Saint Clair Pioneer Block 1 Foundation Sauvignon Blanc 2014.
