Saint Clair
Vicar's Choice
Pinot Gris Bright Light

A lighter way to enjoy a fresh and luscious Marlborough Pinot Gris

Winemaker:

Matt Thomson and Hamish Clark

Colour:

Light gold

Aroma:

Golden baked pear, fresh bread crust and apple blossom aromas.

Palate:

A luscious texture with poached pear and cinnamon flavours and a long lingering finish.

Ageing potential:

Ready to drink now, this wine will continue to reward over the next few years.

Viticulture:

The grapes were harvested at optimum flavour ripeness but before the sugar level was too high. This allowed a lower alcohol wine to be produced. Fermented in stainless steel, the fermentation was stopped with a little residual sugar remaining to balance the natural acidity and add richness. The wine was lightly fined and filtered prior to bottling.

Wine Analysis:

Alcohol: 9.5% v/v , Titratable Acidity: 5.9g/L, Residual Sugar: 9.5g/L , pH: 3.36.

Food match:

With its lower alcohol this wine is ideal as an aperitif or luncheon wine and is well matched with white meats and cheeses.
