Godfrey's Creek Reserve Pinot Gris 2013

Beautifully intense with a soft round oily texture showing pear with a touch of spice and baked apple pie.

Intense with pungent characters of freshly cut white pears, peach and bread crust.


A soft round oily texture and cleansing acidity infused with peach, nougat and short pastry. The palate is full-bodied finishing with a touch of spice and baked apple pie.

Ageing potential:

Drinking well now and may also be enjoyed over the next five years.


Destined for a drier style than our Pioneer Block Pinot Gris, but still focusing on texture and mouth-feel, the fruit was carefully monitored during ripening and harvested in the cool of the evening at maximum flavour maturity and physiological ripeness.


The majority of fruit for this wine is sourced from the Godfrey’s Creek vineyard at the head of the Brancott Valley, owned by John and Lynn Walsh. This vineyard is one of the top vineyards for the aromatic varieties that Saint Clair produces. The vineyard is set up utilising two cane Vertical Shoot Positioning (VSP) trellising system. In most years the Pinot Gris produces a heavy crop so fruit is dropped to keep the vines in balance.


Alcohol: 13.00% v/v, Titratable Acidity: 6.80g/litre, Residual Sugar: 3.90 g/litre, pH: 3.28.

An ideal match with fresh fragrant Asian cuisine and also well matched with most poultry or pork dishes.
