Saint Clair 2014 Vintage

Saint Clair
Marlborough Premium

Elegant, full in body and complex in flavour.

Matt Thomson and Hamish Clark

Pale gold.

Golden Queen peach, bread crust, nutmeg and butterscotch.

A creamy palate with ripe stone fruit and cinnamon.

Ageing potential:

Drinking beautifully now and will continue to reward for at least three years from vintage date, when it will become rounder on the palate and develop further complexity.

Each fruit parcel was chosen to add complexity and fullness as well as impart balance and offer particular characteristics to the final wine. The majority was fermented in new and seasoned French and American oak barrels. The wine in each barrel underwent malolactic fermentation to soften the acidity and give fullness of palate. After six months barrel aging the wine was blended and carefully prepared for bottling.

Fruit was carefully selected from several quality vineyards within Marlborough’s Wairau Valley.

Wine Analysis:

Alcohol: 13.5% v/v, Titratable Acidity: 5.90 g/litre, Residual Sugar: 2.9 g/l, pH: 3.34.

Food match:

A wonderful accompaniment for salmon or chicken dishes.
