Saint Clair
Marlborough Premium
Pinot Gris

Refreshing and juicy with flavours of pear, stonefruit and bread crust and a silky mouthfeel.

Winemaker:

Matt Thomson and Hamish Clark

Colour:

Pale gold.

Aroma:

Pear and stonefruit aromas with a note of fresh bread crust.

Palate:

Refreshing and juicy with creamy pear and a rich, silky mouthfeel.

Ageing potential:

Drinking beautifully now and will continue to improve over the next three years.

Winemaking:

The free-run juice was drained from the press and cold settled before a cool fermentation in stainless steel to retain the varietal aromas. A small portion was fermented in old oak to add complexity and texture. The parcels of wine were selected by the winemakers then blended, stabilised and carefully prepared for bottling.

Viticulture:

The fruit was sourced from a selection of vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau and Awatere Valleys and harvested at optimum phenolic and sugar ripeness.

Wine Analysis:

Alcohol: 13.00% v/v, Titratable Acidity: 5.90 g/litre, Residual Sugar: 4.30 g/L, pH: 3.33.

Food match:

A perfect wine for a summer lunch or as an aperitif. Matches beautifully with scallops, salmon, or soft cheese.
