All Pioneer block's pinot noir's have shown a serious jump in quality this year
Another Awards Show, Another Trophy 17 September 2008
With four trophies in as many weeks, Saint Clair Family Estate is winning recognition for doing what it does best: make great-tasting wine.
The most recent win being at this year’s Royal Perth Wine Show where Saint Clair Pioneer Block 14 Doctor’s Creek Pinot Noir 2007 won the champion Pinot Noir trophy out of thousands of entries from New Zealand and Australia.
But this win is not the only one for the Doctor’s Creek Pinot Noir; the 2003 vintage of this wine (then labeled under Saint Clair’s Reserve label) won two major awards at the 2005 London International Wine Challenge (IWC): the Trophy for International Pinot Noir and the best New Zealand Red Trophy. This win at the Royal Perth Wine Show is the biggest win for a Saint Clair Pinot Noir since the 2005 win at the London IWC.
Such outstanding wins over different vintages highlights the consistent quality of Saint Clair’s Pinot Noirs.
Managing Director of Saint Clair Family Estate, Neal Ibbotson, comments, “It’s great that our wine is able to consistently perform over a variety of vintages. It is very reassuring to know that we can maintain our standards over the years, if not exceed them.”
The winery also won a gold medal at the Royal Perth Wine Show for Saint Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008.
