On the back of recent international success, family-owned Saint Clair Estate Wines has made us proud across the ditch, winning three Blue-Gold medals at the 2008 Sydney International Wine Competition.
The main aim of the Sydney International Wine Competition is to help consumers select quality wines to complement their food choices. Sydney-siders are renowned for their discerning taste, and with seven judges and hundreds of entries from around the world the competition is highly revered on the international scene, making it a tough one to gain recognition in.
Judging was held from the 8 to the 12 of October this year. Saint Clair’s blue-gold medal winners have recently been announced as:
Blue-Gold: Saint Clair Omaka Reserve Chardonnay 2005
Blue-Gold: Saint Clair Pioneer Block 2 Swamp Block Sauvignon Blanc 2007
TOP 100 and Blue- Gold: Saint Clair Pioneer Block 9 Big John Riesling 2007
All three winning wines are available on the local market currently.
