The single vineyard ‘Pioneer Block’ wines of Saint Clair require separate handling, the winery using 250 small tanks to manage this. The amount of detail for winemakers Matt Thomson and Hamish Clark and their team is considerable, but the result is a fascinating range of wines that express their origin and site. In essence Saint Clair is bottling ‘terroir’ for keen wine enthusiasts to ponder and enjoy. The quality per se of the ‘Pioneer Block’ wines has been extremely high as well, reflecting the identification of superior as well as individual vineyards by Saint Clair’s owner Neal Ibbotson.

15 November 2015: Saint Clair Sunday

Come and join us for a BBQ lunch on Sunday 15 November at the Saint Clair Vineayrd Kitchen, 13 Selmes Road, Rapaura, Marlborough.

$35 included BBQ lunch, drink on arrival and return bus transport to Saint Clair Vineyard Kitchen from Seymour Square.

13 February 2016: Marlborough Wine and Food Festival

On the second Saturday in February every year at the Brancott Estate, the Marlborough Wine and Food Festival hosts approximately 6,000 people. In its 20th vintage, like a good wine, this festival just gets better and better.

An annual feature are the Saint Clair Monks who serve wine, entertain, provide bread and water, and it is rumoured later in the day, turn the water into wine.

14 May 2016: Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon

The Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon is a unique off road journey through the vineyards of Marlborough. On the second Saturday of May each year, entrants are offered the opportunity to run or walk through 21 vineyards privately owned by producers such as Saint Clair Family Estate, Cloudy Bay, Wairau River and many others. The views from the course are stunning; with the Richmond Range in the background, the vines in their autumn colours and the panoramic views beside the Wairau River.

This year the Saint Clair Cellar Door will be open for dining on the day of the Half Marathon. Bookings are essential. Please use the contacts below if you want to make a booking.
